The simple thread. Every week: what is actually playing on your system?
The rules are loose. A whole album, a playlist, one song on repeat, a test track you keep returning to, or the radio in the shop while you solder — all of it counts.
What makes the thread useful is a little about the gear and a little about the room. The same record sounds different on a careful system in a treated room than on a barn find in a garage, and both stories teach something. If you are mid-repair and listening through one working channel, that is a legitimate listening room too.
And if part of why you are here is that something sounds wrong and you cannot name it yet — post that too. "This record used to sound bigger" is a real symptom, and sometimes the room is the diagnosis.
I will go first: I tend to put on something with a real double bass while working on amplifiers, because if the bass sounds right I know the amp is behaving.
Your turn. What is playing, on what — and does it sound the way you want it to? If not, what would you change first?
