Restoration thread: show a before and after

Everyone loves a finished restoration. What actually helps the rest of us is the middle part.

So this thread is an invitation to post the project you are in, not just the one you finished. The receiver on the bench right now. The speakers with the foam gone. The turntable that arrived in a box of parts.

What is worth including: a photo of the before (the worse the better), what made you take it on, what you have done so far, what surprised you, and what you would do differently. If you hit a wall, post the wall — this community is better at unblocking than applauding.

One note from the moderation side: say what you actually did. "Cleaned and re-foamed" is a real project. "Recapped" means you replaced capacitors, not that you looked at them. Nobody here expects museum work — we expect true work.

Photos do not need to be good. They need to exist. A phone shot of the inside of a Fisher 400 tells the next person more than a paragraph of adjectives.

What is on your bench right now? One photo and one sentence — where you are stuck, or where you are proud. Go.
